A Quick How To on How to Harvest Carrots

Carrots include an especially delicious vegetable that has a host of healthful benefits. If you cultivate your own carrots, you understand how vital it is to harvest the carrots properly to get the desired flavor and texture of the vegetable. Harvesting based upon temperature, weather and time all will impact the nature of the carrots as the harvest is finished.

Harvesting carrots is an important aspect of carrot growing. As you harvest carrots, remove the carrots from the earth in order for them to be enjoyed and eaten. But, carrot harvesting doesn’t always include pulling up carrots, as they could be stored inside the earth as required even following being completely matured.

You could start harvesting carrots as they’re around ½” in diameter. At this point, they’ll be around the size of your finger. Usually, carrots of this size have been growing for sixty to eighty days. From this time forward, you could harvest carrots any time needed. The older the carrots become, the higher their natural sugar content and the woodier their texture will be.

The carrots as tiny as your pinky finger could be harvested then eaten. Carrot harvesting includes an easy process. Utilize a spade in order to loosen the soil surrounding the carrot. Next, hold the green leaves at their base then gently tug them. Carrots ought to come loose from the ground pretty simply.

You could harvest carrots in a couple of various ways. You could pull the carrots out of the ground, that’s the more common technique, or you could seal the carrots in. If you opt to seal the carrots within the earth, you’ll have to cover them with a board or black plastic sheet. You can then uncover the carrots and remove as needed, and they’ll not mature from the point in which they were covered.

Most individuals believe carrots are a hardy veggie because of their crunchy, hard texture. But, carrots are really delicate and will respond poorly to higher temperatures and dampness within harvest. Carrots removed from the earth underneath these conditions must be prepared then immediately eaten as they’ll spoil more rapidly than usual.

If you’re experiencing a struggle in determining when it’s time to harvest the carrots, stop being concerned. You could harvest the carrots any time if you’re cautious while removing them from the earth. You could even replant the carrots if they don’t appear ready. You’ll have the ability to tell it’s time to harvest the carrots as your stomach growls and you have carrot cake on your mind.

Xenogears Gamer Auction

My previous gamer auction for Suikoden 2 was a success, and now I’m selling another to make additional room in my gaming life. This time it’s Xenogears published by Square (now known as Square-Enix) and released for the Playstation. This game isn’t nearly as rare as other JRPGS, selling over a million copies in it’s original run, but Xenogears can still sell for $40 to $50 on ebay. You can check out my auction if interested (Link removed, see below).

Xenogears features a named protagonist in Fei Fong Wong who is initially on a journey to remember his past. Yep that’s right, Square is big fans of amnesia. He of course, with a number of friends and allies must go out on a search for his origins after his village is destroyed.  Battles make use of the Action Time Battles made famous by other Square titles like Chrono Trigger. Also, the game’s story is hugely influenced by the likes of Sigmund Freud and Friedrich Nietzsche.  Several references are made to them and a few other psychologists and philosophers.

Again, this is a played copy. Unlike some collectors I play my games so it’s safe to assume it’s wrapping has been taken off. Although, I am an adult and do take care of my games, therefore, blemishes on the discs are minimal if not non-existent. If interested head to my Xenogears Ebay listing (Link removed, see below) and get your bid in. Further details are available there.

Update: This game has been sold. When I originally set up these auction pages on my blog, i didn’t anticipate people would still find the page and click over to my now completed auction. Sorry if this is a disappointment for you, however, I would still highly recommend checking out Ebay for Xenogears as there are always a number of copies of the game being sold there.

Suikoden 2 Gamer Auction

As you may know about me, I collect video games. Unfortunately, I also have limited funds and space and have been leaning more towards vintage then necessarily rare. As such I decided to sell a game I’ve had for a while in Suikoden 2 for the original Playstation. I’m not selling it here of course, it’s listed for sale on Ebay so anyone could buy it (original link removed, see below).

For those who haven’t had a chance to play it, Suikoden 2 for those who haven’t heard of it is a rare JRPG released in 1999. Due to a limited production run and little public interest during it’s release, the game has, on average, tripled its original MSRP in recent years. Since it’s release, Suikoden 2 has been one of the more highly regarded RPGs for the Playstation but it’s rarity has driven up the price. I’ve seen people pay over $300 for a sealed/unopened copy of the game.

I, of course, played my copy, so it likely won’t go for as much, and would highly recommend it to those looking for a little 90s gaming magic. Suikoden 2 best feature is by far its world. Over 100 characters can be thrown into battle, which takes place in a tactical grid style similar to Fire Emblem or Final Fantasy Tactics. Overall, it’s a nice, fun game. Also, pretty long as you’d expect from a Japanese style RPG.

Anyway, if interested head over to my Ebay listing and take a look (link removed, see below). All the details are there for those looking for a particular condition. In short, it is complete but has been played.

Update: the game has been sold already. I’ve removed the links because I didn’t want people to get frustrated heading to a finished auction listing. Of course, I’d highly recommend checking Ebay as there’s always a number of people looking to sell their copy.
